@Dave – Thanks. Yep, it’s not looking good. This is without any options checked at all, correct?

PS: I’ve re-checked the code and default display (all options unchecked) in several different themes I use for testing purposes and I am unable to re-create the “full” post issue I see on your blog. Would you be able to send me a copy of the theme you are actively using for me to further test with?

I took it down, it flooded the sidebar. I’ll activate it again before submitting this comment. It will be at the bottom of the sidebar navigation with the show post option unchecked which should only show the excerpt.

Ok it is there and it is ugly : )

@Dave – I’ve looked at your blog after each of your comments … I still do not see if or where you are making use of this plugin. The plugin only showing the “full” post irregardless of the option(s) selected would be an obvious concern; and, one I would like to address.

In short what I’m saying, the full post is showing up not the excerpt no matter what option is selected.

@Dave Smith – The plugin does not currently have an option to not show some sort of post content, although I may add more options in future releases, such as, title only with no content or post excerpt.

The full content option essentially displays your posts as they would appear within your main content section of your blog which is also typically larger in width than the sidebar; and, better able to handle “larger” image widths. The default was set to the_excerpt() function to minimize display “issues” caused by these images.

It doesn’t matter what I check it shows the entire post in the widget. I don’t even want the excerpt to show, just the title and number of comments.

Right now with full post displayed it blows out the sidebar because of the images in the posts and it isn’t readable.
