BNS Featured Plugins Verified on WordPress 3.0

The next two plugins on my list for compatibility review with WordPress 3.0 have been verified to work correctly. The plugins I reviewed this time are:

In the cases of these plugins there were not significant edits required to verify they will work correctly when used on WordPress 3.0 installations.

Next up will be the BNS Login and BNS SMF Feeds plugins, followed by the BNS Support plugin. I will be reviewing the BNS Facebook Sharecount plugin after all of the BNS themes have been reviewed.

BNS Featured Tag 1.6

Hot on the trail of the BNS Featured Category plugin update comes the latest version of the BNS Featured Tag plugin. These plugins have virtually the same functionality except one does categories and the other does tags. Their changlogs read almost identical, with the odd exception. I generally work with BNS Featured Category first, work out any bugs that may creep into the code then apply all of the changes to BNS Featured Tag.

One benefit of the new Description option is you can create a tag (or category, if you are using BNS Featured Category); make it the first one in your list; and, then use it to display introductory text for the plugin. Below is a screen snippet of the BNS Featured Tag with Tag Description checked to give you an idea.

PS: The color scheme and styling of the plugin are from an upcoming theme I am working on. The plugin itself gets almost all of its style from the active theme.

New WordPress Plugin: BNS Featured Tag

Although not exactly new since version 1.0 was released yesterday; I did not make my customary announcement post.

So … here it is!!! BNS Featured Tag is now available at WordPress.org in the Extend Plugins repository. It’s actually at version 1.1 as of today, Aug 26, 2009.

If it sounds a lot like another plugin, do not be alarmed, this is simply the Tag version of my BNS Featured Category plugin.
