@Scott – The simplest way to change all of the default sidebar content is to drag-and-drop a widget into Sidebar 1 and it will “take control” of that area essentially over-writing what the default sidebar content displays. If you are considering this as removing the sidebar altogether then it would be a much more extensive change and would require new theme code and graphics.

Nice theme, one question though, is there a way to get rid of the calendar, categories, archives, and meta widgets in the side bar? Thank you

@Gene – Thank you and your friend for choosing Ground Floor as your theme. As to it being placed in the Genesis framework I cannot say as I have no experience working with Genesis.

IIRC, the XWidgets plugin may be able to help you with adding specific widgets to specific pages/posts … it’s showing as a little out of date and I have not used it in quite some time. Here is a link: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/xwidgets/

Hi Edward,

A friend asked me to help her ‘tuneup’ her website. She chose your Ground Floor theme. I’m sorta new at using themes without a framework. I’ve worked a lot with Genesis and various StudioPress themes.

Is there a way to place Ground Floor into the Genesis framework? If not, could you give me an idea of how I go about adding widgets to individual pages in this theme.

@Najah – This theme does not use custom fields but does implement the post-thumbnail functionality for Featured Images.

Hello,

I am very new to WP as well. Can you please give me very detailed instructions as to where I can find the “Custom Field” VALUES? For instance, I want to add a thumbnail and would like to know which verbiage should be used for that field.

@charlie – Thank you again for the great feedback but I had submitted the latest version (1.6) of Ground Floor late last night. I will definitely look at this patch and will consider implementing those items that are still valid. In the meantime, please feel free to submit the Hungarian translation files for inclusion in the release following their receipt.
