Current Version: 2.2 as of January 17, 2015.
The theme will no longer be available for direct download from this site, I recommend you download it from its GitHub repository. Here is the direct link to the zip file there.
Although still under suspension at WordPress.org since September 2009 we will continue to keep the theme available … for all to Enjoy!
A pretty pin-up girl posing in the header highlights this grunge based theme and beautifully blends the user option enabled background colors. The built-in user option to change the background color gives you the creative opportunity to truly make this theme your own. Do not be scared off by the dark look, try installing your own copy and play with the color changing option for yourself. If you’re not a fan of pinup girls feel free to drop us a note and we can discuss additional options.

Some sample images of the color variations available through the theme options:
The old Child-Themes may be made available again but are not likely to perform correctly with the latest version of Pinup Meets Grunge.

I love this theme, but I was wondering if you have a version of the header without the pinup girl? I love the header, just would prefer the girl to be gone. I also love your other themes too, great job!
Thank you for your compliments, they are appreciated.
I will look at a “header without the pinup girl”, it should fall under a Five-Minute-Fix 🙂
PS: Look for an upcoming post / page about our Five-Minute-Fix.
I love this theme, but is there a possibility that the pin-upgirl is replaced with a (half) full moon and some dark clouds around the full moon?? if there is, will you please let me know? i’m planning to use this theme for my second blog, and with a full moon it would be exactly wat i needed!!!
with love,
Monique
There are always possibilities for customizing our themes. Please feel free to contact us directly to discuss this further.
he is great!!! thank you so much !!
You are very welcome!
would love to customize the header. Is there a way to include a picture?
@Jan – Have you tried downloading one of the child themes above; or, download the WordPress.org repository version of NoNa that uses a “blank” header.
I’ve downloaded the version with the blank header, but would like to add my own graphic to the left side of the header. Is that possible if I download one of the child themes…such as the one with the moon? Could the moon be replaced with my own graphic? (Hope I’m making myself clear.)
@Jan – The child-theme with the moon graphic would be good to use as it is styled so the side image in the header does not have text written over it.
I would suggest using that child-theme template, and using the “blank” header image to create your own for use with the Luna child-theme. (I hope I understood and explained this well enough, too.)
Actually, I like the pinup girl! She’s just not appropriate for the theme of my site.
What I really want is just the background, is there a way to remove the flowers?
@Michael – Thank you for your support. You might consider downloading the NoNa PSD Template (from the NoNa theme page) to re-design the header section without the flowers.
Wow this is a really nice looking theme. Very easy on the eyes while keeping minimal and looking great.
I’ve been attempting to add pinup girl meets grunge because I want the luna theme, however it says the stylesheets are missing? Help please.
@Mike – I just re-checked the archive and all of the files are there, including the style.css file.
Two of the style.css files seem to be missing, even when I re-download it. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!
@Mike – There is only one style.css file in either theme. You can also download NoNa from the WordPress Extend Themes repository and then use the Luna Child-Theme with it.
Ok, I’ll try that. Thank you so much for all of your help!
Love the grunge style theme, really looks edgy and cool. Thanks for the help!! 🙂
I am trying to make a custom menu on the top of the page. When I go into menus and rearrange them it will not show it on the actual site on how I want them arranged. How do I fix this?
@Brandon – Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Pinup Meets Grunge is long overdue for a review/update and to be quite honest it has actually been so long I do not remember what the code even looks like at the moment. This may take some time but please feel free to use the NoNa theme and check back here later as I will post another reply (and updates) once this theme has been reviewed, updated and made available. The theme will also be available from my GitHub repository at https://github.com/Cais as well.
@Brandon – The theme has been updated to version 2.0 and the menu system should be working correctly now. Enjoy!
Is there a way to make this opaque instead of clear? What I mean by this is that I am trying to tile a background (photo) behind this but it is clear so now I cannot read the text on the main page because the background photo tile is showing through. Thank you for your help. I really love this theme.
I would also like the version with the pinup. Where can I get that?
@Brian – Unfortunately there is no opacity layer to work with that would allow what you have in mind (although I do like the idea, and may look into it further at a later date) as I can understand the problems you might see depending on the custom background image you use.
As to the Pinup Meet Grunge theme, I would say it is not supported but the last version I worked on is available here: https://github.com/Cais/pinup-meets-grunge
I don’t expect to put any more work into this theme, at least not at this time but feel free to fork it and make any modifications you want.
Thank you for the quick and thorough response
