i want to download Shades 1.3.1 theme,plz help me
@rhythm – All of my free WordPress themes (with the exception of Pinup Meets Grunge) are stored at WordPress.org; and, I expect the latest version of Shades (1.3.1) to be available very soon.
If for whatever reason it becomes an issue in the future I will most definitely make any theme suitably available for download.
Hello, I need an older version of your theme? Can I revert to 1.3 .1 in WordPress somehow? Or edit 2.0 to have a different look? Need to remove the notes on the original posting date, the Search Box, put a side-bar on the right-hand side at the top – as it was before, and change fonts (Japanese fonts should appear as MS Mincho). Any suggestions? Yes, in big trouble…
@Apolodor – All previous version of Shades can be found in its SVN repository here: http://themes.svn.wordpress.org/shades/ although I would strongly recommend staying with the most current stable version of Shades and creating a Child-Theme to make the changes you want to revert to instead.
Nice work ..great look
@Kishore – Thank you, I’ll glad you like the theme.
What’s the license?
ok, i’ve got it 😉
I was having trouble getting youtube video to embed in my post – but then I figured it out. I have jetpack for wordpress installed, so instead of using the youtube embed code, all I had to do was cut/paste the url to the video in the text of my post. It’s working great now!
The post in question is here: http://www.oneforfive.com/mea-copa-1986-semi-finalists-brazil/
Thank you for the quick reply to my question, though!
@Paul – Thanks for that tip; I’ll add this to the review queue for Shades. I did not realize there was a conflict with JetPack and the YouTube embed code … you might want to drop the JetPack author(s) a note on this, too.
I’m new to wordpress – may you please tell me how to change the font size of the headers in the menu on the right? I tried to edit the file but couldn’t find the correct option :/
And also – how to remove default search field…?
@Piotr – To “remove (the) default search field” you will need to edit the sidebar.php template file (please read the Child-Theme article if you have not already) and comment out or remove the following lines (near line 28):
<?php get_search_form(); ?>
</div><!-- #search -->
@Piotr – When editing WordPress theme files it is strongly recommended to create a Child-Theme and make all of your edits there. (See this article: http://wpfirstaid.com/2011/04/wordpress-child-themes/)
To adjust the font size used in the sidebar of the theme you should look at the .widget h2 CSS element in the style.css file and adjust the font-size property to one that suits your tastes.
Thank you Edward!
